  • I think shortly we need to clean the new terms list. Move some of the stuff we do want to incude into the terms to include, make a section below that is "terms to discuss" and then on the bottom of that a section that is "proposed terms". Does that work/ David 21:45, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I wanted to add some input on a few of the things mentioned in the New Terms section. The current example of SKU isn't quite accurate; at least, during my work in the industry, SKU was never used in reference to the platform the game was on. There wasn't a "PC SKU" or a "PS2 SKU," but a "PC version" and "PS2 version." SKU was more useful in reference to the actual variants on these games. For example, Halo 3 has an NTSC Legendary SKU, PAL Heroic SKU, etc. Were there a version for, say, the Wii, it would be "Halo 3, Wii version, PAL MULTI-5 Regular SKU," or simply "Halo 3 for Wii...". I hope that clears something up.

As far as I understand, split screen is accepted nomenclature and I see no reason to change that. Use of "splitscreen" is fringe at best.

Touchscreen, however, seems like a point for contention; I can find no proof for either touch screen or touchscreen, and even the wikipedia article is full of both, with no discussion on which is accepted. Mirriam Webster, however, lists "touch screen" when searching for touchscreen, so I would go with that.

The only other one I'm curious about is userbase vs. user base. I've seen the former far more than the latter, but the former doesn't appear to be in any dictionary I can find. --Brilliam 18:02, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
