Jargon.

Short for robot – an ally or enemy controlled by the game’s artificial intelligence. Bots are most commonly used as virtual training opponents in first-person shooters.

Bot acceptable on all references.

Example: It's easy for players to improve their aim in Unreal Tournament by practicing in arenas filled with well-armed bots.

Wrong: droids, scripts.
